Dr. Yossapong Laoonual ​

Founding member and former President of Electric Vehicle Association Thailand

Dr. Yossapong is one of the founding members, advisor and honorary chairman of Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT), promoting electric vehicle technology to use less fossil fuel and reduce air pollution in Thailand. He was elected as first President of EVAT and served from 2015-2020.

Currently, he is appointed as an Assistant to the President for Sustainability and also works as Associate Professorin Mechanical Engineering and as Head of Mobility & Vehicle Technology Research Center (MOVE) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) in Thailand.

In recent years, he has served on a number of committees at both government and society level on a voluntary basis. For instance, he had been subcommittee member on regulatory control of air pollution from motor vehicles, under pollution control committee, national environment board since 2015. He is also appointed as a member on National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee, Office of the Prime Minister.

He holds a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.
