The NDC Transport Initiative for Asia is a joint program of seven organizations funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) , working under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Actions (BMWK) and in close cooperation with its founder, the Federal Ministry of Environment and the Federal Foreign Office.

The implementing organizations are Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), International Transport Forum (ITF), Agora Verkehrswende (AGORA), Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) Foundation and Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21).

The International Transport Forum at the OECD is an intergovernmental organization with 64 member countries. It acts as a think tank for transport policy and organizes the Annual Summit of transport ministers. ITF is the only global body that covers all transport modes. The ITF is administratively integrated with the OECD, yet politically autonomous.

The International Council on Clean Transportation is an independent nonprofit organization founded to provide first-rate, unbiased research and technical and scientific analysis to environmental regulators. Its mission is to improve the environmental performance and energy efficiency of road, marine, and air transportation, in order to benefit public health and mitigate climate change.

Lately from the ICCT is a bi-monthly synopsis of research and media coverage; the Policy note is a bi-monthly (alternating months) short essay on a policy issue or development in some part of the world; and Current Contents is bi-weekly table of contents of research and forthcoming publications, videos, and other materials intended especially for reporters and media in general.

Agora Verkehrswende revolves around societal discourse on environmentally friendly, sustainable ways to develop the traffic sector. Its highly decorated board, chaired by Achim Steiner - formerly the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) - provides a central forum for this dialogue. The board features selected representatives from the fields of society, politics, economics and science.

SLOCAT engages a vibrant international, multi-stakeholder ecosystem of over 90 entities across transport sectors associations, knowledge and academia, governments, multilateral organisations, NGOs, philanthropy and industry; as well as a large community of world-class experts and change-makers. SLOCAT believes that sustainable, low carbon transport is central to ensuring equitable socio-economic prosperity for all people.
