Delhi Government Announces First EV Mechanics Training Programme

On September 15th, 2022, Delhi Government announced its first comprehensive training program for Electric vehicle (EV) mechanics. This initiative is a step towards Delhi’s aspiration to become the EV capital of India and create a pool of skilled and trained workforce to support the ecosystem. To develop the training program, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed among Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), World Resources Institute India (WRI India), and Hero Electric Vehicles Ltd.

What will the programme cover?

The programme will cover basic and advanced EV mechanics theoretical training and provide practical experience through relevant internship opportunities to students.

What is the role of DSEU, WRI India and Hero Electric Vehicles?

The DSEU will undertake the end-to-end design of the program’s course structure and curriculum.

As the knowledge partner, WRI India will provide the required research, monitoring, and evaluation support to the program.

Through its rich industry experience, Hero Electric will support DSEU in designing the study material as well as provide internship opportunities to the program students.
