EVENT RECAP: Technical Meeting on the Action Plan for E-Mobility in Ho Chi Minh City

In implementation of the cooperation program between the Ministry of Transport, the German… (GIZ) and the Department of Transport (DOT) of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to realize the project “NDC Transport Initiative for Asia” (NDC-TIA), using non-refundable ODA from the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, the DOT of HCMC in collaboration with GIZ holds a technical meeting, namely “Action plan for city e-mobility development in Ho Chi Minh City” on the January 18th, 2022. The objectives of the meeting are to commence the research “Action plan for city e-mobility development in Ho Chi Minh City”; and to collect comments from participants on current and future challenges for e-mobility development in the city, international experience in formulating action plan and roadmap for e-mobility development.

The NDC-TIA project currently supporting the HCMC DOT to formulate the city e-mobility action plan/roadmap, which is the first city e-mobility roadmap in Viet Nam. HCMC will be a pioneer city setting an example for other cities to shift from traditional vehicles to electric vehicles, contributing to the national goal of “net-zero” emissions by 2050.
