Amegh Gopinath

Component Team Leader at NDC-TIA India, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH

Amegh Gopinath is responsible for Electric Mobility and NDC-TIA Projects at GIZ India. He provides technical support to the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), NITI Aayog, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), and other national and state agencies. He is working with GIZ to decarbonize the transportation sector in India through electric mobility strategies, renewable energy, alternative mobility solutions, and initiatives to improve air quality in urban areas. He is at the forefront of driving green mobility in India under the Indo-German Green Urban Mobility Partnership (GUMP).

Before joining GIZ, he contributed his expertise to organizations like World Resources Institute (WRI), the Norwegian Centre for Transport Research, and Larsen & Toubro (L&T). His multi-faceted career involved identifying urban mobility issues, fostering community engagement, and devising inclusive policy designing and development strategies. Amegh holds a master’s degree in transportation planning and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
