Dr. Kim Gyeng Chul

Former CEO of Daejon Transportation Corporation (DJTC)

Dr. Kim is the former CEO of Daejeon Transportation Corporation (DJTC). His career in transport policies and management spans nearly three decades with engagement in both the public and private sectors with specific interests in public transport. Before his current position Dr. Kim worked as Transport Planning and Policy Consultant at the Department of Transportation of the Republic of Philippines, where he supported public transport reform in Manila. From 2011 to 2014 Dr. Kim acted as the President of The Korea Transport Institute (KOTI). From 2009 to early 2011 he served as the CEO of Veolia Transport Korea.

He received his PhD in Transport Planning and Administration at Seoul National University in 1993 then taught graduate research courses at the Universities of Leeds and Kyoto.

Dr. Kim served as a member in the Council for Decarbonizing Transport in Asia from May 2021 to July 2022.
