Electric 2/3 wheelers in Asia

This event is part of Transport and Climate Change Week and is hosted by the UNEP and the NDC-TIA.

This session discusses the state of electric 2&3 wheelers in Southeast Asia and highlights perspectives from the people on the ground. The ASEAN region is home to 650 million people with high rates of urbanization and motorization driving severe air pollution, traffic jams, and fossil fuel consumption. Most motorized trips in Southeast Asia are on motorized two wheelers, which remain often insufficiently integrated in urban transport. The growth of e-commerce has made motorbike deliveries indispensable. Electrifying 2&3 wheelers will help make cities more sustainable especially when properly integrated into the urban transport system.
