On the morning of March 8th, 2022, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) opened the first e-bus route operated by Vinbus with a distance of 29 km.

Currently, the city leaders have been requiring relevant stakeholders to coordinate for effective route exploitation and preparation for the replication of the pilot routes. The NDC Transport Initiative in Asia (NDC-TIA) project is currently supporting the Department of Transport in Ho Chi Minh city to develop a city e-mobility roadmap, which will include the implementation roadmap to replace traditional buses with electric buses on a city-wide scale.
