Daniel Bongardt

Program Director Transport and Climate Change, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH

Daniel currently heads GIZ's global projects on transport and climate change TraCS and TRANSfer - both funded by the German Environment Ministry. Daniel provides high-level strategy support to regional component of the NDC-TIA project. From 2011 to 2015 he lived in Beijing and led several sustainable transport projects in China. Daniel is interested in a wide range of topics (e.g. urban mobility, freight and logistics, green hydrogen (PtX), electromobility) and his passion is to understand and reduce transport emissions. Before joining GIZ in 2009, Daniel was a researcher on sustainable mobility at the German think tank Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy.
